Introduction to K9 Nose Work

Dogs of any breed, size, and temperament can easily be trained to compete in nosework for fun or competition. I teach nose work according to the Andrew Ramsey technique:

  • Assessing which method of reward should be used - food or toy
  • Conditioning to the environment and food delivery container
  • Beginning nose work session - introducing the dog to odor

Hiking is relaxing for human and dog alike

Hiking is a great way to relax with your dog. The dog gets to explore nature, use its nose and experience different smells and negotiate varies terrain:

  • Learn the responsible and safe way to hike with your dog
  • Intersperse obedience and play
  • Introduce your dog to water / swimming
  • NOTE: Dogs must be dog friendly and obey off leash

If your dog cannot go on a group hike, I will make time to take you and your dog for a 45 minute hike around the farm and fence lines.
